Keeping with her recent forays into wistful ballad territory, Lady Gaga gets all mushy about her dad and her fans in a new song she previewed at a US concert.
The superstar performed her new soul-searching tune, 'Living on the Radio', at her sold-out Monster Ball concert in at St Paul in Minnesota on Monday, August 30.
Gaga took to the piano for a plaintive moment in her all-thriller-no-filler live show, singing lyrics about her father, fame, and her posse of fans.
She sings: "Baby, you've got a friend/ And so many little monsters/ Keep living on the radio/ And when there's nowhere to go/ And all your friends are gone/ And you've only got your daddy to call/ You're gonna be all right, honey/ Because your songs are on the radio."
After her performance of the song she told fans "[it] came straight from my soul to you."
When it comes to her love for her dad, Gaga is no stranger to wearing her heart on her sleeve (when she's wearing sleeves, that is). She told Rolling Stone magazine in July, "I've never really loved anyone like I loved him. Or like I love him. That relationship really shaped me. It made me into a fighter."
It's unconfirmed whether 'Living on the Radio', or her other new ballad 'You and I', which she unleashed two months ago, will be on her next album.
What do you think? Does it hold up with the best of Gaga's ballads? Should she include it on her new album?
