Lana Del Rey has today released her much anticipated cinematic passion project Tropico…and it's all boobs and sexiness.
Starring alongside model Shaun Ross, the 27-year-old singer channels both the Virgin Mary and a Hollywood stripper in this "Biblical story of sin and redemption."
Cloaked in a virginal robe one minute then stripping down to sequined nipple pasties the next, there is no shortage of sex, sin and controversy in this 27-minute film, written by Del Rey and directed by Anthony Mandler.
A fusion of both pop culture and religious icons, Tropico takes place in the ethereal Garden of Eden and modern day LA with cameos from the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and Jesus Christ.
It is sound tracked by original tracks 'Body Electric', 'Gods and Monsters' and 'Bel Air', which appear on the reissue of hit debut album Born To Die: The Paradise Edition.
Attending the premiere last night in Hollywood, Lana announced that the film was a farewell to Born To Die as she moves on to a new era of artistry, having already named her next album Ultraviolence.
