The Killers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend and Band of Horses are just some of the massive international stars set to pull fans to the 2013 show.
And with a reduced, all-inclusive ticket price of $165, Australia's most notorious music festival looks set to rise again after struggling to sell in 2012.
But noticeably absent from the line-up is the usual pool of Aussie talent.
The show's organiser Ken West told Faster Louder they have cut back on local acts by "probably about 10 per cent."
"Because we are not delivering as many acts, we needed to be lot harsher in our judgment of what we’re putting on. The acts that are on are really excited and that’s what we haven’t had for a while," he said."
But Adelaide and Perth will once again be privy to the full show, after missing out on headliner Kanye West this year, but Auckland is now cut from the show.
The 2013 line-up, which has been announced a few months earlier than in previous years, is already creating controversy online.
Music lovers took to Twitter in the early hours this morning to express their opinions about next year's show.
The majority of tweeters appear to be impressed with the 2013 offering, saying the show is set to be a "ripper" and that the acts are "incredible."
But others were less than enthusiastic, with one tweeter saying, "[The Big Day Out] is overall just s---, boring indie rock."
Tickets go on sale this Thursday July 19 from 7pm through the Big Day Out websitewith the show set to kick off in Sydney on January 18 2013.
