If you've ever wondered what Duran Duran did on tour, well, wonder no more. John Taylor has revealed exactly what he and his bandmates got up to, and their (sort of gross) way of making sure getting up to it wasn't a felony.
"Of absolute necessity for any touring musician is the itinerary," Taylor writes in his upcoming autobiography, In The Pleasure Groove. "In the left-hand corner of each page of the US itinerary, there was a number, usually 18, 21, or 20. It was months before I was let in on the secret. The numbers referred to the legal age for sexual intercourse in that particular state."
Classy!
Taylor doesn't just dish the dirt on the band's (responsible) promiscuity, in the book, he also sheds light on his own battle with drugs.
"I didn't want to be lonely, and the drugs ensured I never was," he writes. "I'm a pin-up on thousands of bedroom walls, but the fear of loneliness is turning me into a cokehead."
Duran Duran will open the Olympics in London this month.
