Kanye took to Twitter yesterday to talk it out with his fans.
"I usually never tweet questions but I struggle with this so here goes … Is the word B---- acceptable?" the hip-hop star tweeted.
The 35-year-old rapper then wondered aloud about how the term compares to another more dangerous word.
"Has hip-hop conditioned us to accept this word? Do we love this word as much as we love the word n---- in an endearing way?" he asked.
He followed with nearly 20 tweets on the same topic no doubt a result of receiving flak after releasing the song "Perfect B----" in honour of girlfriend Kim.
Although she is reportedly flattered by the track, the Twitter tirade suggests she might not be as cool with the tag as first suggested.
"Is it okay to use b---- as long as we put BAD in front of it? Like you a BAD B----," Kanye later asked.
"Here's the age old question, would we refer to our mothers as b-----? [Would] we call our fathers n------ or better yet N-----?"
Near the end of his Twitter outburst, Kanye seemed no closer to an answer.
"I'm not tweeting to say what we need and what we don't," he wrote. "I just wanted to think out loud with you guys today."
