Katy Perry just became the envy of millions of teenage girls around the world by kissing One Direction's Harry Styles and Niall Horan at the MTV Video Music Awards ... on the lips!
The 'Wide Awake' singer gleefully presented the boys the award for Best Pop Video for 'What Makes You Beautiful'. But Harry and Niall got that extra bit of lip from Russell Brand's ex.
"Wow, thank you very much Katy. Thanks for the kiss. Thank you so much," blonde 1D member Niall said appreciatively (gotta love the manners!).
But as you'll see in the above clip, Harry was very quick to wipe his mouth after the kiss. Maybe because he got Niall's sloppy seconds?
The band, who performed their hit 'One Thing' to adoring fans earlier in the show, sent Twitter into meltdown mode.
"Harry kissing Katy Perry, re-tweet if you slammed your head into a mirror," one fan tweeted.
"If you're hating on Katy Perry over one little kiss with Niall and Harry, then I will slit your throat," another threatened.
Katy has previously singled out Niall as being "just lovely" when she was asked what she thought of the band in July.
"Niall is just such a sweetheart. I'm a big fan of One Direction," the 27-year-old told The Irish Sun.
But she was later quoted by The Irish Independent saying that "they are very cute boys but very illegal for me."
Come on, Niall's only 18! And he's single too.
Before the ceremony started, Katy tweeted, "If One Direction doesn't perform on the VMAs I am gonna jump off this ledge!"
When accepting the award from Katy, Niall thanked the fans for their support.
"We've grown up watching this show. And to even be here is an honour, and to collect one of these is absolutely incredible," he said.
"Straight away we would like to thank the most important people: Our fans who have followed us through our two-year rollercoaster journey and have helped us win this award for Best Pop Video. So thank you!"
Earlier at the VMAs, 1D's devastatingly good-looking Liam Payne tweeted to the fans.
"Backstage at the awards, getting nervous, please keep voting for Best New Artist and Best Video, so excited, thanks to everyone who's voted :)," he wrote.
The boys got their wish they took home Best New Artist. They lost Best Video to Rihanna's 'We Found Love', but they also took home Most Share-worthy Video for 'What Makes You Beautiful'.
