TheFIX spoke with the 15-year-old Gold Coast local while he prepares to join Justin and Carly Rae Jepsen on tour in the US.
"It's real awesome, ay? I'm definitely super stoked. It's awesome to be able to have the chance to tour with artists like that," Cody says on the phone from Arizona.
"I'm going to be on stage singing a song with Carly. It's a lot of fun when you get to tour with people you know, we all have the same manager [Scooter Braun] so it's pretty cool."
Cody has achieved a lot since he was discovered on YouTube in 2009. In the past three years he's had two successful EPs, collaborated with Taio Cruz, T-Pain and Becky G, and conquered the US, even getting his own Mini-Me Cody doll.
Now, his debut album Paradise has finally dropped, featuring the singles 'Wish U Were Here' and 'Got Me Good'.
"The whole album is about girls and my experiences with them. Obviously that's what I write about as a teenage kid," he says.
"I'm pretty much giving a big piece of myself through the music, I'm sharing with people my lifestyle, and just who I am as a person."
Becoming increasingly popular at home and in the US, Cody doesn't mind the growing attention on his personal life.
"It's hard because every time I go hang out with a girl, whether or not she's just a friend, there's always going to be rumours. So it's just kinda something you gotta live with," he reveals.
"[The rumours are] definitely a great sign more than anything, it means things are really happening."
A few months back, reports claimed he was dating Kim Kardashian's half-sister Kylie Jenner, but Cody is well and truly single right now.
"I don't have a girlfriend or anything at the moment," he says.
That could soon change Cody's been seriously working out.
"It's important to always stay fit and healthy especially when you're out here on the road," he says.
"There's always a lot of fast food temptations everywhere you go, especially here in the US, I just try to stay healthy as much as I can."
"I posted this one pic on my Instagram recently, which is like the first time I'd done a photo of me without a shirt on so that was interesting!"
However, Cody remains clothed for his album cover, wearing a tux on the beach.
"I love wearing suits and suiting up. If I'm ever going out I'll definitely chuck some dressy wear on, and have really taken a liking to designer wear," he says. "I've been mixing a little bit of that with my personal style, which is just kind of like, 'chilled Aussie beach kid'."
Cody looks up to one particular fashion icon of the moment: 'Gangnam Style' Korean rapper Psy.
"I like his saying, 'Dress classy, dance crazy', I think that's genius!" Cody says.
