The stars of the music industry have made their arrivals at the 2012 American Music Awards at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.
Fake tans, sparkly gowns and some very public displays of affection set the stage for the most important part of it all: The red carpet.
Plenty of familiar faces popped up, from Pink to Psy to Justin Bieber. But it was a face-off between pop divas Christina Aguilera and Nicki Minaj that stood out – literally. The crazy dresses! That fake tan! It's safe to say "Best dressed" may not be theirs this year.
Looking a little more tasteful was Taylor Swift in a gold-laced gown, and an adorable Carly Rae Jepsen looking like a pocket-sized all-sequinned diva.
Jason Derulo and Jordin Sparks locked lips for the cameras, kicking off a few intense PDAs for the cameras.
And now that Selena Gomez is no longer in the picture, Justin Bieber opted to bring his mum to this year's proceedings.
