Justin Bieber played the good-son card, opting to bring his mum to this year's proceedings.
The show itself saw live performances from Linkin Park, Usher, Pink, Nicki Minaj, Biebz and Christina Aguilera — which, oddly, also looks a lot like the list of winners.
The winner of Artist of the Year was Justin Bieber, who was strongly tipped to take the gong.
Usher took out the Best Soul / R&B Artist award, while Linkin Park got the Best Alternative Group nod (really?).
Best pop/rock album also went to Justin Bieber for Believe — which was pretty much a shoo-in. Favorite rap hip-hop artist went to Nicki Minaj — and we're glad, because that outfit did her her career no favours.
