Watch: Sporty Spice forced to spruik new song on a home shopping channel

Mel "Sporty Spice" Chisholm, or Mel C between chums, has resorted to promoting her new songs on a home shopping channel after radio stations in the UK refused to air her new single.

The former Spice Girl, now a successful solo artist, has taken the snub in stride. Instead, Mel C has been pimping her single on UK home shopping channel QVC.

The single is a cover of Joni Mitchell's 1969 classic 'Both Sides Now', but even with that kind of pedigree, her song has been deemed unworthy of airtime on commercial radio.

Her new covers album Stages also features a duet with "Baby Spice" Emma Bunton, but the reunion wasn’t spicy enough to raise commercial radio eyebrows.

At 38 and with six solo studio albums (and her own record label) to her name, Mel C certainly isn't showing any signs of slowing down, despite the freeze-out.

Is she your favourite Spice Girl?
