One Direction rejects deal to promote condoms, releases USB sticks instead

The One Direction boys have turned down a sponsorship deal with a US condoms manufacturer despite a sizeable offer (see, size doesn’t matter!).

According to a source close to the band, "The offer was enormous and even tied into a safe sex organisation in the US. It came from one of the biggest brands in the world."

However, the deal fell through because the band "felt their fans were slightly too young for this type of project," the source told the Daily Star. "They are promoting dolls and games, so that is the age group who are buying their products.

That hasn't stopped the 1D-machine from signing another promotional item deal: USB sticks.

One Direction's merchandising arm has struck a deal to release branded USB and Lanyards from Koolstix. The USBs and lanyards are printed with images of the lads and are available at Officeworks.

Now all those Aussie fans who can't make the 1D tour due to clashing exam dates can store their study notes in style!

It's been a turbulent week for the world's most popular group, who played a concert to 20,000 fans at Madison Square Gardens in New York.

Yesterday, the boys were pulled over by the police while filming a new music video.

Louis Tomlinson was filming himself singing from the car's sun roof as band mates laughed and fooled around when the 5-0 flashed their lights. Onlookers managed to capture the moment.

Would you buy One Direction condoms? Or is that one too much of a ...stretch? (sorry)
