Kanye West 'shocked and devastated' over Rihanna

, Prev Next

Kanye West is said to be shocked over allegations his good friend Rihanna was assaulted by her boyfriend, rapper Chris Brown shortly before the 51st Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Kanye was reportedly hanging out with the pair on Saturday at a pre-Grammys party in L.A., and learned of the news just before performing at the Awards show.

"I was completely devastated during the performance," West said.

"Rihanna is so important to our culture ... to pop music," he said. "I feel like she is the most important artist in music and has the most potential. Her taste level and her age ... she has the potential to be the greatest artist of all time.

"In that sense, I feel like that's my baby sis," he said of Rihanna. "I would do any and everything to help her in any situation.

Both Chris Brown and Rihanna were scheduled to perform at the music industry's night of nights, but each failed to make an appearance. Brown turned himself into authorities by the end of the night for alleged assault. Meanwhile, Rihanna is said to be suffering "horrific" injuries, including facial bruising, a bloody nose and a split lip.

Kanye was loathe to speculate on what might have taken place, but said abuse was never okay. "I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's ... [abuse] should never happen. It should never come to that place," he added.

Happier days... Rihanna performs with Chris Brown

he shouldnt be allowed to pay his way out again- he should suffer the consequences just olike every other normal person- because he is a celebrity he can pay his way out of all the crimes he commits! thats unfair to the rest of us who could not afford bail and would have to suffer the consequences instead of just paying his way out and not learning his lesson. its sick how could someone do that and get away wiht it because of money. . he deserves a consequense.
Reading over the first page of these comments, I find a lot of people saying "we dont know the full story" and "dont judge". Regardless of knowing or not, regardless of what the situation was. Even if she had told him she "has aids and purposefully gave him aids", it is NEVER ok to hit a woman. And I dont even like Rhianna.
Wow Look At Rihanna's Finger Nails CUTE MCH
excuse me peoples but I think Kanye West should *** out of this one and so should all of you nosies! You guys are silly to judge because you know NOTHING of what happened you can only know if you were there or have footage....Like words are words people can lie soooooooo easily so just dont be a moron by saying that his career should go! I mean he is only a kid! He is so young and how would you like it if this happened to you I mean not that you idiots (who are saying his career should go) could get a career as good as his I mean he is AWESOME and no one except for him and Rihanna Know so you guys shut your gobs!LOSERS!
Miss made a comment that TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AUSTRALIA SAYS NO and that people who do that go to prison for years and years. Have we forgotten to Brooke Satchwell? TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AUSTRALIA SAYS NO UNLESS YOUR RICH AND FAMOUS.
where do u guys get off. Imyself eudured a very violent relationship and it haunts u for many years.Mentally and emotionally. What gives this monster Chris Brown the right to inflict such pain and trauma to this poor girl who asks for a black eye!this type of man has serious issues what about the poor next girl?It doesnt stop there im afraid to say!
Everyone hates chris brown now so im not the only one, his music sounds the same and he is boring.
Well Looks like we might have another Ike and Tina Turner, but look where she ended up!! One of the best!!! I guess it's def hard to judge before you know the true story, and just remember chinese wispers aren't what the true story is as everyone adds a little bit extra here and there so eventually the true story is never told... Lets just leave it and move on.. It's def disappointing, but also a huge shock for all we know it could be all false... So lets just wait and see what the next part of the story is sprawled all over the papers.
"Kanye was loathe to speculate on what might have taken place, but said abuse was never okay. "I don't care how famous she is or even if she just worked at McDonald's ... [abuse] should never happen. It should never come to that place," he added." It's ok if you smash up a photographers gear and abuse them though. He forgot to add that clause clearly. The two situations can't really be compared but he is a hypocrite anyway.
You people have no idea what your talking about. You have absolutely no idea what happened. Maybe she told him she has aids and purposefully gave him aids. Which is as about as likely as the sun dying tommorow, but how would you know any different - WOULD you be angry?. So keep your mouths shut. If it turns out he got angry becuase of her clothes or something idiotic then go to town, don't buy his albums and abuse anybody who does, or however you deal with your problems. Getting angry at him over WHAT you think MIGHT have happened is as idiotic as what he did.

New video: it's all about Hugh Sheridan MusicFIX Blog by Sam Nov 20 2009 2:29PM Off the heels of his debut 'Just Can't Throw Us Away' comes Hugh Sheridan's follow-up 'All About Me' — and MusicFIX is giving you the first look at the new song.

We gotta say: Hugh's is looking pretty fine in the clip, which dumps him in the desert (in trendy aviator sunnies) where he's rescued/stalked by a woman I can only assume is a massive Packed to the Rafters fan.

Keep an eye out for the blink-and-you'll-miss-it shirtlessness:

'All About Me' is from Hugh's album Speak Love, which releases on November 27.

Music Review: Foo Fighters & Robbie Williams MusicFIX Blog by Jade Nov 19 2009 3:11PM

Single review: Robbie Williams - Bodies

Robbie's appeal lies in the chorus. 'Rock DJ', 'Let Me Entertain You', 'Angels' - a verse is just a means to a middle for Mr. Williams. His last album lost the chorus and truckloads of fans along the way.

Bodies the new single off of his seventh album 'Reality Killed the Video Star' was a perfect choice to piggyback a comeback on. The fuzzy guitars and synth beats do a damn fine job of building interest till we reach the main event and Robbie's voice bursts through, bringing with it the memory of just how catchy and fun he can be.

Admittedly the choir and the string section are a little naff and it's definitely no monster hit like 'Rock DJ'. Still it is a pretty slice of pop pleasure from someone who unlike 'Take That' you aren't embarrassed to admit you listen too. You will like it if: You're in need of a new karaoke tune.

Album review: Foo Fighters – Greatest Hits

The Foo's are the gateway band for the next generation (not sure what letter of the alphabet that is). They are the band every 13 year old first turns too when they are on the cusp of realising there is more to music than the Top 40. Easy listening with just enough edge and cred to ease the transition into some harder sounding stuff.

Everyone remembers their first, it always maintains a slight rosy coloured special sheen, and it's why a decade later grown up kids get misty eyed when 'Monkey Wrench' suddenly appears on a shuffle playlist. It's why record companies are cynically smart enough to release a Greatest Hits album just before stockings must be stuffed in time for Christmas.

While the obligatory two new songs tacked on the end - 'Wheels' and 'Word Forward' won't make it to 'Greatest Hits Vol. 2', the CD serves its purpose as you find yourself discovering or dusting off their old albums.

Video: Ministry of Sound's raunchy new tune MusicFIX Blog by Sam Nov 18 2009 4:01PM Aah, another Ministry of Sound song, another raunchy video clip.

Titled 'aNYway', the track is by Ducksauce and appears to be influenced by the Patrick Swayze/Demi Moore classic Ghost — if Ghost was, like, 100 times sexier. (I don't recall Patrick slipping his hand inside Demi's bra in the movie. Or the two of them crafting a huge penis-shaped thing out of clay. Hmmm...)

Check out the clip right here:
