Presets' Kim Moyes Readies Solo Record

The Presets Moyes is ready to prove he's not just a drummer

Kim Moyes from the Presets has announced he will be releasing a solo collection of songs he has written over the last nine or so years. Despite the fact that he is one half of an ARIA winning duo, the news seems to have slipped through without much fanfare, which, rightly or wrongly, is what tends to happen to guys who spend most their time behind a drum kit.

In Moyes' case, however, perhaps a little more attention is warranted -- at worst this will be Phil Collins, at best some of this stuff will every bit as good as the Presets (if slightly less accessible). The two CD set is called Selected Jerks 2001-2009, and is due out October 30th.

"Selected Jerks 2001-2009 acts as a musical clearing of the slate," says Moyes in a statement. "A collection of nine years of artistic exploration bundled up and set loose, paving way for future expeditions deep into inner and outer space. Deep into the rave cave."
