Black Eyed Thieves? 'Boom boom pow' rip-off claims The only thing more ridiculous than the lyrics of 'Boom Boom Pow' is the claim that the Black Eyed Peas may have actually stolen the song from somebody else. Was there no better song to plagiarise? Seriously!

Red carpet: Grammy Awards 2010 The question on everyone's mind in the lead-up to the 2010 Grammy Awards wasn't "Who's going to win?" — it's "What will Lady Gaga wear on the red carpet?"

She didn't disappoint spectators, rocking up in a lurid outfit possibly inspired by Intergalactic Explorer Barbie, complete with bright yellow hair extensions, teetering platform heels and a hand-held accessory that's either a magic wand or a medieval weapon. (Frankly, I feel a little let down. By Gaga's usual OTT standards, this is conservative stuff indeed.)

Gaga and her garish dress stole the limelight from Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Pink and the other more sensibly attired music superstars who strutted their stuff at LA's Staples Centre. Check out the best (and the worst) Grammys outfits in the full post.

Grammys 2010 showdown: Beyonce trumps Taylor (but only just) The 2010 Grammy Awards cemented the rivalry that's developing between two of music's biggest superstars: Beyonce Knowles versus Taylor Swift. But it's tough to say who came on top.

Sure, Beyonce won the highly coveted Song of the Year award for 'Single Ladies' (which: completely justified. That song is amazing). But Taylor won the even-more-coveted Album of the Year award for her debut effort Fearless. (Neither of them won Record of the Year — that went to Kings of Leon.)

All up, Beyonce walked away with six Grammy Awards to Taylor's four. Advantage: Knowles... but only just. She's won the battle. But the war continues!

(Luckily, Kanye West wasn't around this time to add his own personal commentary to the Taylor/Beyonce competition...)

Beyonce kills off lame alter ego Sasha Fierce Remember how Beyonce had that alter ego Sasha Fierce? Us neither, but apparently Sasha is no more.

"Sasha Fierce is my alter ego, this other side of me that's almost animalistic and strong and fearless, and I have used this person to take over when I'm too scared or too shy," Beyonce told Allure magazine.

"The thing that's interesting is I don't need Sasha Fierce anymore, because I've grown, and I'm now able to merge the two," Beyonce continued. "I want people to see me. I want people to see who I am."

Normally when people have alter egos they're committed to asylums (or given Golden Globe awards), but it seems to be the done thing in music circles. Janet Jackson had Damita Jo, Mariah Carey had Mimi, and Britney Spears had Crazy Britney Spears.
