Splitsville for Ricki Lee and husband ,

There must be something in the air at the moment. First Madonna and Guy call it a day; now we hear Ricki Lee (smiling bravely at the ARIA awards above), and her construction worker husband Jamie Babbington have officially announced their year-long marriage is over.

The pair have cited distance and time apart as the reason for the marriage breakdown, though Ricki Lee has allegedly claimed her rampant mood swings weren't exactly helping the marital bliss.

Speaking of her depression last year, she told reporters, "when I woke up in the morning, Jamie didn't know which Ricki-Lee he would get. The good Ricki-Lee? The evil Ricki-Lee?"

"We simply request the media respect our privacy during a difficult and trying time" the pair said in a statement released this week.

Watch out world, Madonna's single again ,

We're saddened to hear about Madonna's marriage to Guy Ritchie ending, but if her past is anything to go by, the old girl is probably already gearing up for a rockin' good time.

After all, the material girl was flaunting her sexuality, flashing her panties and making kinky videos while Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton were still in huggies.

Will we see a return to her 'Erotica' days? With that purple leotard still on high rotation in the wardrobe, we guess anything is possible.

Beyonce accused of stealing new song ,

Did Beyonce Knowles steal her latest single, 'If I were a boy' from unknown Californian singer BC Jean?

(Watch the video for 'If I Were A Boy'.)

US gossip monger Perez Hilton credits BC as the original creator of the song, although he fails to mention how bootylicious Beyonce might have gotten her paws on it.

Early reports claim the 21-year-old sent Beyonce a demo tape when an album deal fell apart, hoping to sell her material on.

But Beyonce's management team headed up by her dad, Matthew Knowles, allegedly used the hit song without crediting the original writer.

At any rate it looks like the cock-up might pay off for BC, with tonnes of publicity now flowing her way.

Who do you think does the song better?

Have a listen to BC's version here.

Fans of Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl have successfully campaigned to have a street named after him in his hometown.

Thanks to the efforts of a radio DJ and a local policeman, Market Street in Warren, Ohio, will now become Dave Grohl Alley.

Initial fears that the move would cost the city money were notwithstanding as the local council voted unanimously to pass the move.

Grohl, who shot to fame in the early 90s as the drummer for Nirvana, has been invited to an official ceremony dedicating the street in his honour.

Support act 'banned from talking to Madonna' ,

Wannabe pop stars, take warning: Just because Madonna hand picks you to be her support on her international tour doesn't mean she actually likes you.

That lesson was learned recently by Swedish popette Robyn, who will open for Madonna throughout the European leg of her Sticky and Sweet tour.

Robyn claimed recently she was told by Maddy's people not to approach the star or take any photos while on the road.

Speaking to a Swedish newspaper, she said: "I hadn't expected any glamour, but it's strange that they assume the first thing you're gonna do is run after Madonna and ask for an autograph."

Is Avril Lavigne getting divorced? ,

Punk princess Avril Lavigne and her husband, Sum 41's Deryck Whibley are on the brink of divorce, according to UK tabloid newspaper The Sun.

Reports say the couple, who married in July 2006 when Avril was just 21, are feeling the strain of their respective careers. In other words, hers has taken off, and his hasn't.

An unnamed source told the paper: "They have been growing apart for months. Deryck isn't motivated in his own career, so he's been drinking and partying."

Deryck was allegedly spotted at an event in LA with a mystery woman, "huddled at a private table" and holding hands.

There's no word from official sources yet, with the pair yet to publically confirm or deny the claim. But er... Avril, is that a hickey we can see?
