Madonna bans Sarah Palin from her show ,

Madonna has become the latest celeb to publically fly her political colours ahead of next month's U.S. presidential election, lashing out at Vice-Presidential candidate Sarah Palin during a concert in New York.

"Sarah Palin can't come to my party," Madonna is said to have announced during the show, part of her worldwide Sticky and Sweet tour.

"Sarah Palin can't come to my show. It's nothing personal."

The tour itself features video footage of Presidential candidate John McCain alongside images of global destruction and starving children.

Mads joins a league of singers who have spoken out against the controversial candidate, including Lindsay Lohan and P!nk, who allegedly criticised her for being anti-women and animals.

Ashlee Simpson's white trash party ,

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz celebrated her last birthday before becoming a mum in about the least stylish way possible, throwing a hilarious 'white trash' themed party for all her friends.

The 24-year-old singer wore nothing but a bikini, short shorts, platform flip-flops, a bathing suit and a fake tattoo around her swollen belly, while big sis Jessica Simpson apparently wore a leopard-print dress that showed off lots of cleavage.

Guests including Ashlee's partner Pete Wentz came wearing trucker caps, mullets and wife beaters, and drank beer out of paper bags.

We hear Ash stayed well away from the booze though — she's due to give birth next month.

'Liam wears make-up' says Noel Gallagher ,

Oasis lead singer Noel Gallagher is reportedly still on the mend from being assaulted by a 'fan' in Toronto last month, but it seems his mouth at least has made a full recovery.

Noel allegedly dished some dirt on his brother and fellow band mate Liam Gallagher this week, allegedly saying: "Liam's been dyeing his hair for a while."

"And he wears make-up. Seriously," he said according to NME.com. "I think he's trying to head off old age but it'll catch him."

The frontman suffered bruising to his ribs and hip after a man rushed onto the stage during a performance in Canada this September.

Speaking to US radio DJ Christian O'Connell last week, Noel said his recovery had been slow.

"The doctor said that at my age it should take about another four weeks to heal. It's making me walk and stand different though 'cos of the pain."

He also alluded to his shady drug history and disappointment with his current prescription medication.

"The trouble with painkillers is they're only fun when you're not meant to be on them."

What's wrong with Janet Jackson? ,

Pop sensation Janet Jackson has been struck down by a mystery illness, causing the further cancellation of a string of tour dates across North America.

It was thought the singer had recovered from a minor ailment that saw her check into hospital briefly last week, but with further shows in the US cancelled it seems she's not out of the woods yet.

Janet's reps are yet to confirm what the mystery sickness could be, but a statement from her publicist claims the shows, part of her Rock Witchu Tour, will be rescheduled when the singer is fully recovered.

The cancelled concert dates were part of Janet's first North American tour in seven years.

Coldplay clean up at the Q awards ,

Coldplay were voted 'Best Act in the World Today' at the British Q Awards this week, beating out rivals Oasis to the finish line.

The group also took out Best Album for their questionably titled fourth studio album, 'Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends', fighting back at rumours they are past their peak.

Host Alan Carr didn't waste the opportunity to poke fun of long suffering Amy Winehouse as he handed over the award of best Breakthrough Artist to sheep-loving Welsh songstress (Amy) Duffy, saying: "People are calling (Duffy) the new Amy. If Amy keeps it up they’ll soon be calling her the only Amy."

Also awarded on the night were the Kaiser Chiefs, for Best Live Act and Vampire Weekend, who won a gong for Best Video.

Jay-Z wants babies with Beyonce ,

At a time when it seems most celebs are checking in and out of rehab, making public fools of themselves or acting just plain weird, we're thankful for the squeaky clean ways of newly married couple Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles.

Jay-Z, speaking at a United Nations awards ceremony where he was honoured for his charity work in Africa, revealed he'd love to start a family with his new bride.

"Most people dream of having a family someday," he told reporters. "So I'm just a regular American boy."

The rapper was praised at the United Nations Global Leadership Awards Gala held in New York this week for his work bringing clean water to poorer parts of Africa.

He also visited the continent recently to see the effects of his actions.

"Many charities, you close your eyes and cross your fingers and hope that the money gets to the people who really deserve it." He told reporters.

"But with this, I got to go to Africa, see the water pumps. I got to see the kids turn them on."

Lily Allen urged to go to rehab ,

Lily Allen's spate of publically drunken episodes lately have allegedly left friends seriously concerned for the singer's health.

A source told Britain's Daily Star newspaper that the pop sensation needs help.

"We all think it's time she considered rehab. She drinks too much, then feels depressed," said the source, adding that the singer didn't think anything was wrong with her behaviour.

"Her attitude is: 'I like to let my hair down and have a good time, who doesn't?"

Sure, Lily's had a few embarrassing incidents lately – including being carried out of the Glamour Woman of the Year awards in July, and swearing at Elton John at the GQ Awards last month – but does that really warrant rehab?

The singer is quick to admit on her myspace blog she goes overboard sometimes, but that her behaviour is normal for someone her age.

"I'm not defending my drunkeness because i don't need to, i'm 23 it was an awards ceremony i drank the free champagne, how awful of me," Lily wrote in the wake of the Elton scandal.

The Kills report tour bus and driver missing ,

It's been a bad couple of weeks for The Kills guitarist Jamie Hince. Barely two weeks after he was dumped by party princess Kate Moss, his band's tour bus and driver have mysteriously disappeared in Texas.

The Kills posted a frustrated message on their website seeking anyone who might have information leading to its recovery.

"OUR BUS DRIVER IS MISSING AND/OR HURT/DEAD/or A THIEF," they wrote. "OUR BUS HAS DISAPPEARED. ... How can three tons of black metal vanish into thin air?"

"Anyone seen a black ziggys tour bus traveling somewhere between los angeles and austin texas?"

The federal police are now on the hunt for the vehicle and its driver, Brian Berkenkemper.

Meanwhile, the band plan to continue on their tour supporting indie super-group The Raconteurs, minus the bus and all of their luggage.

But don't be tricked into thinking the track, 'My BFF', is just another pop song. It's also a transparent plug for her new reality TV show, where she searches for a new best friend.

The 16-year-old many of you thought was just not good enough to be the new Idol has put out the call to other young male singers to create a Jonas Brothers-style boy band.

"They (the Jonas Brothers) are really big in America, so I think it will be kind of cool to have one of those kinds of bands in Australia," Williams said.
