Crowded House

This legendary band have returned with a stunning album which deserves to be rated alongside their best.

Crowded House formed in Melbourne in 1985 and first tasted global success with their massive 1987 hit 'Don't Dream It's Over'. They continued to have hits for a decade before the band split in 1996 following a farewell concert outside Sydney Opera House in front of 120,000 fans. Time On Earth is the re-united Crowded House's fifth studio album and their first since 1993's Together Alone.

Farewell to the World photos

In 1996, Crowded House played an emotional show called Farewell to the World on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. It was one of the biggest concerts in Australian history.

Sibling rivalry — the Finn brothers

In the late '70s, Tim Finn had a band called Split Enz. Based in London, a world away world from their native New Zealand, Tim decided to add his little brother Neil to the group following their lead Phil Judd's departure.

Peter Andre's multi-million dollar record deal MusicFIX Blog by Rhiannon Jul 9 2009 4:54PM

Could the misery of divorce be helping Peter Andre kick-start his stalled career?

Industry insiders have leaked news the former Mr Katie Price is planning to put out an album, and has inked a deal with a record label worth around $2 million.

That's right, the same dude whose best offerings to date include 'Funky Junky' and a cover of 'A Whole New World' from the Aladdin soundtrack is apparently going to put out something worth more than most people earn in their lifetime.

The first single from the album, 'Behind Closed Doors', will be out on August 10.

In the immortal words of some dead guy, "this better be good, Peter".

Fergie and co are about to find themselves at the centre of a legal battle after a little known act called Freeland cried plagiarism on the Black Eyed Peas track Party All The Time, from the new album The E.N.D.

Lawyers for the musicians are claiming the band has used a piece of music by Freeland as a backing track in the song.

Apparently Black Eyed Peas member and producer Will.I.Am was at an event last year where Freeland performed the song in question.

Pink's near-death experience in Oz MusicFIX Blog by CelebrityFIX Jul 7 2009 12:53PM

Pop punk Pink has revealed how she had a brush with death while performing a daring stunt on stage in Brisbane last month.

"I do this stunt where I'm singing while flying through the air," she explains. "My bungees broke, the whole motor broke. I was hanging there in heels thinking, 'If I fall, shall I land on my heels and break my ankles or my hands and break my wrists, or worse?' It was scary but it was okay in the end."

Yikes! Lucky she didn't fall. And lucky she's such a professional and presumably didn't even let on that she was in trouble.

Were you at Pink's Brisbane show? Did you see her freak out, or was she cool as a cucumber?

Madonna and Beyoncé pay tribute to Michael Jackson MusicFIX Blog by MusicFIX Jul 6 2009 11:49AM

Madonna and Beyoncé both farewelled Michael Jackson with special tributes during their performances at the weekend.

Madonna, who once took Michael to the Oscars as her date, shouted "Long live the King!" after playing a medley of MJ's hits at London's O2 Arena while a Michael look-alike danced his signature moves.

Beyoncé's tribute was more low-key and emotional. She showed the crowd a home video of herself as a child being taken to see Michael Jackson in concert. She says after seeing him perform she told her mother, "Mummy, I want to be just like him." She then broke into an emotional version of 'Halo', with the words, 'Michael I can see your halo'.

Check out the videos from both concerts…
