Got God

Religion in music

These musos have seen the light and managed to fit faith into their rock 'n' roll lifestyles.

Modern music and religion aren't the most comfortable of bedfellows. If anything, the two most often come to loggerheads. Religious groups are easily angered by the pop and rock music scenes' promotion of overt sexuality, drug and alcohol use and lifestyle lacking in morals. Nonetheless there are many musicians who are religious, treading a fine line between their faith and their creative expression.

The Wanted have been causing a stir since touching down in Australia, appearing on The Voice and being hunted down by hoards of devoted female fans.

So, naturally, TheFIX wanted a slice of the action. While we didn't chase them down the street and throw our knickers at them, we did organise a fan meet and greet.

Fifteen of the band's biggest fans got up, close and personal with the cheeky guys and TheFIX also fired off a series of fast questions called "The Quick Six".

Kelly Rowland reveals 'rage' toward so-called bestie Beyonce in 'Dirty Laundry' single MusicFIX Blog by Yasmin Vought May 16 2013 11:20AM

Didn't anyone ever tell Kelly Rowland not to air her dirty laundry in public? Especially when it comes to the sensitive nature of abusive relationships and former band mates. Apparently not! Her new single 'Dirty Laundry' exposes all. Listen here!

In 'Dirty Laundry', the former Destiny's Child singer admits to being jealous of Beyonce's successful solo career, before delving into the details of an abusive relationship.

"When my sister was on stage killin' it like a mother---er / I was enraged, feelin' it like a mother f---er," she sings.

"Bird in a cage / You would never know what I was dealin' with / Went our separate ways but I was happy she was killin' it."

"Meanwhile, this n----- is putting his hands on me," she adds. "You don't know the half of this industry / When you're soaked in tears for years, it never airs out / When you make pain look this good, it never wears out."

But it's not all bad news for the relationship between Kelly and Beyonce, with the singer explaining that a bad boyfriend was the reason for their distance.

"Hitting the window like it was me / And still it shattered / He pulled me out and said, 'Don't nobody love you but me / Not your mama / Not your daddy / and especially not Bey'."

"He turned me against my sister. I missed ya," she explains in the song.

Sheesh! Now that's all aired out, it'll be nice to see what else Kelly has to offer on her new album Talk a Good Game, due out in stores June 18.

Let's just hope it's not all this depressing!

Kelly reunited with her Destiny's Child sisters for a spectacular NFL Super Bowl XLVII half-time show in February. Watch the performance below.
