Has another music superstar died? Fortunately not: the death report is just a hoax.

A trickster somehow found his or her way into Britney's official Twitter and posted an update (which has since been deleted) reporting that "Britney has passed today. It is a sad day for everyone. More news to come."

In any case, Britney isn't allowed to die until after she tours Australia later this year.

Good news for those who thought they would never see Britney Spears in Australia: the pop-diva has announced that she will bring the madness of her very extravagant tour “The Circus Starring Britney Spears” to Aussie shores. This will mark the first time the recently resuscitated singer plays Down Under.

A Los Angeles judge issued a restraining order this morning barring Adnan Ghalib, the paparazzi ex-boyfriend of Britney Spears, from having any contact with the singer until 2012. With the previous restraining order against Ghalib to expire on March 23rd, lawyers for Britney’s father Jamie Spears asked the judge to sign off on the order since, according to the AP, “Ghalib hadn’t filed any objections to a protective order being issued.” The restraining order also prevents Ghalib from having any physical, e-mail or phone contact with Britney’s children and parents.

(Which... is pretty dumb, actually, because the line in the chorus, "All the girls and all the boys are begging to if you seek Amy", doesn't even make sense as a straightforward sentence.)

But I'm pretty sure that even without being told, I still would've gotten the joke eventually — the opening scene of the new clip for 'If You Seek Amy' makes the double meaning pretty explicit. (Britney's never been one for subtlety, after all.)

It's a Britney Spears smorgasbord!

Apparently unsatisfied with the snippets of her life presented by the press and less-than-salubrious twitter hackers, Britney is finally going to get the chance to tell it for herself, by penning her "own" autobiography.

She'll allegedly be using her personal diary entries to recreate her rise to fame, fall from grace and notable personal struggles in a 3 to 5 book series.

If your first thoughts were why, Britney, why?! your answer might come by way of the $14 million book deal she's apparently already signed a with a literary agent.

Even for a cashed up gal like Brits, that's a new holiday home right there. Or a lot of corn chips and beer.

The other day we told you about the cover of Womanizer Lily Allen released via Mark Ronson's radio show.

Well it turns out that release was a little highly unauthorized, and now Lily's in hot water with her label over the whole thing.

In her own defence, Lily posted a rant on her blog explaining the gaff and slamming Mark Ronson for not doing as he was told:

"now some of you may be wondering why i covered "womanizer", simple really , i love britney and i love the song , it wasn't my intention for it to have whizzed round the world like it has, mark ronson asked me for something no one had heard to play on his radio show and womanizer was the only song i had as an attachment on my blackberry and i couldn't get home to send him anything else in time. i had asked him to talk all over it so it wouldn't get ripped, but he didn't , thanks mark for getting me in serious trouble with my record company."

We usually like Lily, but is this really Mark's fault? Smells like a case of passing the blame to us.
