Australian artists have had their strongest year of mainstream media exposure in this country yet, a new report has revealed.

The Phonographic Performance Company of Australia's 2008 report found that 19 home-grown artists made it into the top 50 Most Played Artists ranking, more than any other year on record.

The Veronicas were your fave local acts ranked at No. 6, with the Rogue Traders coming in at No. 9.

Delta Goodrem, INXS and John Butler Trio all ranked in the top 20.
