Those of you who've studied French will know what I mean when I say, "
Kanye West is a total shower". For the rest of you Francophobes, let me explain.
At the 2009 MTV Music Video Awards, Taylor Swift won the award for best female video for her clip 'You Belong With Me', defeating Beyonce's much-parodied 'Single Ladies'. She heads up onstage to deliver her acceptance speech. So far, so good.
But THEN! Mid-speech, Kanye storms onstage, grabs the mike, and declares that Taylor shouldn't have won the award. "Yo Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'll let you finish, but Beyonce has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!"
And then he left, leaving a mortified Taylor onstage and an equally mortified Beyonce sitting in the audience. Awkward. (To her immense credit, Taylor didn't tell Kanye to eff off, like most sensible people would've done.)
I happen to agree that 'Single Ladies' is a spectacular video, and better than 'You Belong With Me'. But still! Kanye West is such a French shower! (And a gay fish, too.)
